Abstract
- The article examines the risk and benefits of bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) concurrent with hysterectomy for patients with varying degrees of ovarian cancer risks, and evidence derived from several observational studies including one by the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists Clinical Practice Committee. Details related to BSO in different scenarios are offered, including ovarian cancer prevention in high risk and average risk patients, and also for those with endometriosis.
