Expression of Fibrosis-Related Genes in Canine Chronic Hepatitis.

The article reports on the expression levels of genes that are related to hepatic fibrosis. Information on chronic hepatitis in dogs is provided together with hepatic fibrosis. Fifteen dogs that are diagnosed with canine chronic hepatitis/cirrhosis are presented along with the processes involved for ribonucleic acid (RNA) isolation, the quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis, and histologic procedures. Histopathologic evaluation is discussed highlighting the correlation between the degree of fibrosis and gene expression.
