Abstract
- The article presents a study that investigated in-situ polymerized phenolic resin (PF) for reinforcement of chloroprene (CR) and ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM) vulcanizates. It showed that the PF phase was effective in reinforcing the rubbers and that various properties could be enhanced depending on the morphologies of the formed PF phases. It attributed the improvements of the mechanical properties of the rubbers to their morphology, high flexibility and moderate stiffness among others.
