Abstract

The article discusses a study of the synthesis, characterization and thermal properties of polyamides (PA) and polyimides (PI) with two silicon atoms in the main chain. Aldrich of Wisconsin and Riedel de Häen has provided the reagents and solvents, respectively. The silyl aromatic acid dichlorides were the sources of PA used in the study. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were utilized to assess the thermal stability of the materials.
