Abstract
- The article presents the response of Feifang Hu and John D. Kalbfleisch to the commentaries on their paper about the bootstrap theory in statistics. The authors agree with James V. Zidek and Steven X. Wang on the necessity of a balance between asymptotic argument and simulation. In response to Thomas J. DiCiccio and Robert J. Tibshirani, they offer an appendix as proof of the applicability of their results in the independent, albeit unnecessarily identical distributed case. Hu and Kalbfleisch find Christian Leger's comments supportive.
