Abstract
- In this article the author discusses aspects of the U.S. Interim Tier 4 and Europe's Stage IIIB engine exhaust emissions regulations. He mentions the aim of the regulations which is to reduce the amount of black soot or particulate matter (PM) from off-highway machines towards air quality improvement. He also notes that manufacturers of the machines are required to add aftertreatment devices in their exhaust system to be fueled with ultra low sulphur diesel.
