Abstract

The article offers information related to researches on poverty in Canada. It says that public services like health services to elderly can reduce the effect of non-cash income or in-kind benefits received by low-income individuals on inequality as well as on poverty, based from the data of municipal accounts in Norway. Moreover, it mentions that minimum wage affects the rate of teen employment and poverty rate using the Statistics Canada's Low Income Cut Offs (LICOs).
