The Influence of Complexity in Pitch Sequences on Preference Responses of College-Age Subjects.

Abstract
- The article offers information on a study conducted to know which complexity components in aural stimulus, especially pitch sequences or melodies influence preference response of college-age students. It states that 46 students of music appreciation course of State University of New York College at Fredonia were studied and were given 48 pitch melodies in which music elements were held constant. It revealed that number of different pitches did not influence preference response.
