Abstract
- The article presents information on the Imposter Phenomenon, a self-doubt and a sense of faked success among high-achieving career women. Researchers Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes coined the term following their study on career women in the late 1970s. They identified that social factors like sexism and gender roles are major factors in the self-doubt expressed by career women in the U.S.
