Abstract: The author reflects on the concerns raised by scientists and health-care economists concerning the personalized medicine. He states that personalized medicine aims to use the latest genomic knowledge and technologies to treat individuals, but health-care economists do not see it happening. He notes that complex biology and complex economics are two major problems facing the personalized approach, in which pathway involved is not well understood and most targeted drugs are expensive .
