Abstract
- The article looks at the economic performance of Japan as of May 2011. It notes that most gauges of economic conditions were reasonable positive before the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, with industrial production rising at 3% in January and February. It further states that real gross domestic product (GDP) growth was inevitably decelerated by the disasters.
