Abstract
- A literary criticism of the book "Moby-Dick" by Herman Melville is presented. It is suggested that instead of subverting the moral messages of the Bible, the novel reproduces many elements of its structure, its style, and its didactic messages about faith and justice. According to the author, both "Moby-Dick" and the Bible are both eclectic texts which present many moral and textual ambiguities. The story of the Biblical figure Jonah and the idea of forgiveness are also discussed.
