Abstract
- The article examines the ways in which the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) utilized radio reports concerning the persecution of European Jews by Nazi forces sent to Nazi occupied nations as a form of Allied propaganda. Emphasis is given to an analysis of speeches pertaining to the Holocaust issued by exiled Czechoslovak politicians affiliated with the BBC. The author distinguishes between speeches of a strictly humanitarian nature and those that contained subtle political implications. The ways in which the Slovak underground resistance movement understood Jewish identity as opposed to traditional Slovak identity are explained as well.
