Abstract

An encyclopedia entry for U.S. physician Elijah D. Harmon is presented. Harmon worked as a medical officer at the Fort Dearbon in Chicago, Illinois in May 1830. He specialized in the treatment of patients with cholera infection at the fort in 1832. He formed a medical fraternity with U.S. Army assistant surgeon Philip Maxwell in the town in August 1833.
