Chris Humphries (1947-2009): botanist, cladist and biogeographer: an appreciation.

A biography of Christopher John Humphries, a botanist, biogeographer and founding fellow of the Willi Hennig Society,is presented. He was born on April 29, 1947 in Derby, England and died July 31, 2009 at the age of 62. Humphries continued his education at Derby Technical College and at University of Kingston-upon-Hull and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) with Honours in Botany. It explores his career and accomplishments in botanical research.
