Abstract

The article focuses on construction materials demand and supply forecast for 2011. The author says that the mixed recovery in the demand for key materials in 2010 is likely to continue in 2011 and 2012 due to the growing economies in Asia and its demand for cement and steel. The demand and supply of construction materials however faces a threat from the high and rising costs of raw materials like iron ore, coking coal and scrap steel. Canada is seen as the one to benefit from the demand from Asia for construction materials.
