Abstract

The article discusses the importance of criminal intelligence to effectively enforce criminal law in the Baltic Sea Region. It explores the value of criminal intelligence work in controlling the occurrence of organised crime and terrorist groups through the employment of information and communication technologies (ICT) and an intensified freedom of movement in the area. It also cites the creation of the Task Force on Organised Crime to fight crime syndicates and organizations.
