Abstract

The article reports on the study conducted at the University Hospital of Ulm in Germany in 2011 on the effects of long-distance running in the body. It notes that the stress-induced changes in the legs and feet after running was determined. It mentions that the study found that the leg muscles of the athletes have degenerated due to the immense energy consumption and the fat tissue was the first tissue affected by running.
