Insights into the mechanisms of action of host defence peptides from biophysical and structural investigations.

The article presents a study on the mechanisms of actions linear cationic host defense peptides based on biophysical and structural studies. It explores membrane interactions of magainins and related peptides in different lipid environments. It discusses the findings showing that there are still many questions that have to be resolved to explain the mechanism of action of self-assembling properties of cationic peptides.
