Abstract

The article focuses on the financial crises in the international operations of the Japanese banks. The worldwide recession and liquidity squeeze are exposing more fundamental weakness in the international position of Japanese banks. The Japanese banks hold a staggering 12.5 billion dollars of Mexico's total 58 billion dollars debt to banks in industrialized countries.
