Abstract: The article presents a study that examines the high-jump (HJ) take-off technique using force plate data and defines the take-off the ground reaction force (GRF) profiles as function of technical and conditional characteristics of different athletes. It highlights the significant role of take-off on HJ performance where it exhibits an increased complexity due to the curvilinear approach-run pathway. Results of the study suggest that GRF can be used to perform technical evaluation.
