Abstract
- The article provides information on a study which examined drug and indication specific off-label use in paediatrics, applied to ciprofloxacin (CPFX) in cholangitis, which is a common complication affecting children with extrahepatic biliary atresia (EHBA) in Sweden. Questions asked to the nurse responsible for the CPFX-treated cholangitis patient are listed. The use of the Statistics, Literature, Interview, Retrospective (SLIR) model has been utilized. The local arbitrary criteria for cholangitis seen in the patients include elevated C-reactive protein.
