Abstract

The article focuses on the efforts made by the Air Line Pilot Association (ALPA) members along with other employees in Continental Airlines Corp. against the bankruptcy filing of the firm. It says that since the filling of bankruptcy, the firm reduced the wages of the pilots and increased their workload. Hence, ALPA organized an alliance with other unions to solicit for changes in the Bankruptcy Code of 1980 and the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, and to deal with the reduction of labor costs.
