Abstract

The article focuses on gardening with Clematis montana and its cultivars. The plant was introduced to Great Britain in around 1831 by Lady Amherst. Some of its natural habitats include woodland or open places over bushes or rocks, margins of streams and close to the tree line. It describes the plant's flowers and foliage. Information is presented on the Clematis montana cultivars in the collection of National Plant Collection holder, Valerie Le May Neville-Parry.
