Abstract
- The article discusses the results of a study on an alternative method, based on accelerated solvent extraction (ASE), that would take less time, labor and amount of solvent required for the production of woven fabric. The ASE method involves the water and enzyme extraction steps from the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) standard method. A discussion on instruments and chemicals used, yarn samples, preparation procedure, dyeing procedure, weight loss calculations and cooling and weighing procedure is given. The study concluded that the ASE method did not completely replace AATCC standard method.
