Abstract
- The author outlines the changes in numismatics in the U.S. in past 100 years ending in 2011. He notes that the availability of resources in collecting tokens, coins, paper money, and medals were few in 1911. He considers this era as the time when collectors expand their knowledge through advertisements in hobby publications. He observes that modern collectors need not learn how to grade coins, they just buy certified slabs.
