Abstract

The article focuses on the concept of language appropriation by Indian populations in Canada and its impact on cultural integration. Topics include information on the methodology of literary research concerning Indigenous authors, the signification of languages in a cultural context, and the way that Indigenous authors consider their languages and their relation to French or English. The notions of oral writing and of the performance of words are explored. The process of decolonization is also examined.
