Abstract
- The article discusses the decline in labour productivity in 2008 and 2009 in Canada. It presents a comparison of labour productivity during the present and previous recessions in Canada and the U.S. It is stated that the employers in Canada did not reduce labour inputs as fast as output in 2008-2009, which led to a decline in the labour productivity in Canada for the first time in over three decades.
