Abstract
- The article focuses on the popularity of alfalfa and corn silage in the forage industry in the U.S. Nutritionist Mike Hutjens recalls how alfalfa silage became the dairy forage of choice among farmers in the country due to its proven effectiveness, as well as the growing popularity of corn silage due to the effort of breeders to invest in more resources to improve their silage hybrids. It also notes how the industry has made significant enhancements relative to the quality of both silages.
