Abstract

The article offers information on the economic condition of the steel industry in the U.S. in 1966. As stated, since the price-boost attempt by the industry in 1962, which was met with criticism by the government, the steel industry has become politically sensitive. The industry raised prices twice in 1966 on sheet and strip and on stainless products and though the government is disappointed, it did not censure their moves.
