Abstract

The article discusses a study on single-heartbeat fast strain encoding (Fast-SENC) imaging for assessing right ventricular (RV) regional function in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Fast-SENC is designed to address the difficulty of making reliable RV function assessment using traditional breath-holding methods. The study involved 11 healthy volunteers and 11 patients with pulmonary hypertension. The study compared fast-SENC RV longitudinal strain and circumferential strain measurements to traditional SENC and MR tagging, respectively.
