Abstract
- The article discusses a study which incorporated reactive silver-tricalcium phosphate nanoparticles (Ag/TCP) into polyamide 6 to allow preparation of self-disinfecting fibers. Flame spray synthesis was used to produce Ag/TCP nanoparticles. The fibers were contaminated with Escherichia coli or Streptococcus sanguinis. The study found that the reactive fibers showed reduced plate count within 24 hours.
