Abstract

This section presents abstracts of articles on economic history, published in the December 1964 issue of The Journal of Economic History. George Rogers Taylor's examines economic growth in the thirteen colonies of Britain in North America in the article American Economic Growth Before 1840: An Exploratory Essay. Robert Sabatino Lopez, on the other hand, analyzes the loss of markets and colonies in eastern Mediterranean in the fifteenth century. Finally, Harry A. Miskimin used the monetary approach to examine the economic decline, citing diminishing bullion supplies, during the period after the Black Death in his article Monetary Movement and Market Structure: Forces for Contraction in Fourteenth- and Fifteenth-Century England.
