Abstract

Chapter 2 of the book "Global Community: Global Security" is presented. It discusses the collision of the two objectives, which are fighting terror and spreading democracy, of the U.S. dual foreign policy priorities. It explains that the long-term victory of U.S. democratic development is compromised when it continues to fight terrorism in places including Central Asia, Iraq and Afghanistan, as a short-term strategy. It asserts that freedom, liberty, prosperity, dignity and justice are the long-term solutions to combating terrorism.
