Abstract

The article discusses the future of the U.S. trucking industry as it grows and poses the need for regulation. It explores the trucking categories set by the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) which include the contract, exempt, and common carriers. It says that more trucking taxes are expected as people in Oregon voted for the persistence of the weight-distance levy of the state. It adds that the trucking industry has to struggle with the inconsistent state laws limiting the trucks' weight.
