Abstract

The article reports that the U.S. will go ahead with its atmospheric nuclear testing in the Pacific from around April 22, 1962, which gives the Soviet Union two weeks for inspection. It states that though U.S. President John F. Kennedy and his administration is keeping doors open for international inspection, Soviet Union is unlikely to inspect at such a short span. It mentions that number of tests are expected to be around 12 in the first series and most will be in high altitudes.
