Abstract

The article reports on a dispute over the proposed contract dubbed Metrex which requires phones in 25 U.S. federal agencies to be locked into the Bell System for at least five more years. The deal is being discussed by the General Services Administration (GSA) and American Telephone & Telegraph Co. subsidiary, Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. (C&P). The deal was rejected by Northern Telecom Inc.
