Abstract
- The article reports on a trend of including gay teenage characters and themes in television programs. How this trend has raised awareness about harassment, peer rejection, and the sliding scale of sexuality and presented role models for parents are discussed. The success of actor Chris Colfer is mentioned. Story lines for several television shows including "Glee," "Degrassi," "My So-Called Life," and "The O.C." are discussed.
