Abstract

The article describes the case of physicians reviewing preventable errors during cardiac arrests. The study reviews four medical subspecialties namely hospital medicine, emergency, critical care and cardiovascular medicine. Errors identified in the study were communication, misdiagnosis, delayed recognition of symptoms, inappropriate treatment, inadequate inpatient record, delayed defibrillation, and inadequate chest compressions. The study accounts errors in the stressful nature of emergencies.
