Abstract

The article reports on the assessments made by information literacy students concerning their interactions with Google Scholar (GS) and the traditional library subscription database Academic Search Premier (ASP) from EBSCO. A review of issues that have accompanied the emergence of GS is provided. The study showed that majority of students prefer use to the EBSCO database over GS. Some reasons cited by students why they favored ASP are discussed, including ease of use, database organization and completeness of citation information.
