Abstract

The article reports on the working plans of fire insurance companies and the U.S. government addressing war damage. While War Damage Corp. assumed 90% of any net loss, some underwriters feel that enemy raid insurance is going to be more patriotic than profitable. Under the working plan, fire insurance companies will act as agents of War Damage Corp. in writing policies covering damage to property from enemy attack. Direct property loss or damage from enemy attack, military, naval or aerial will be covered by their policies.
