Abstract

The article details a study which examined the relationship between telomere length and adiposity among non-Hispanic white people. The study utilized dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), along with conventional anthropometric proxies. It found that telomere length is negatively correlated with age, but is linked with risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Study authors concluded that higher total and abdominal adiposity is related to lower telomere length.
