Abstract

The article presents the views of the War Food Administration (WFA) and the Office of Price Administration (OPA) to the food program proposed by the U.S. government to improve the cost of living. Concerns regarding the market efficacy of the program and its possible impact on farmers are mentioned. Market prospects for sweet potato crops are reported, noting that the WFA is considering three options in selling them. The OPA is staying optimistic that the cost of living will decline due to price reductions on some food products including meat and butter.
