Abstract

The article focuses on mining company Stora Kopparsbergs Bergslags AB in Stockholm, Sweden, which is considered as the oldest corporation in the world. The company adopted an aggressive growth policy which allowed it to successfully shift from the production of copper to iron, steel and forest products. Moreover, Stora increased its overseas revenues by making a deal with Dravo Corp. in Pennsylvania for Stora's Kaldo oxygen steep process and establishing a venture corporation in Nova Scotia.
