Abstract
- This paper examines a formerly incarcerated woman's journey from prison to taking on policy change. It points to a personal experience of drug addiction, recovery and transformation and asks the question of how ex-prisoner may gain citizenship and develop partnerships within grassroots organizations. There is further discussion of how she became involved in advocacy and policy change and the way that formerly incarcerated people are seen by those in power. The paper also discusses the invisibility of those who have had the prison experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
