Abstract

The article focuses on the emphasis of the U.S. military government officials in Germany on merging German economic activities in the U.S. and British occupation areas in 1946. The government hopes that the move could revive business activity in western Germany and boost trade with nearby countries. It also calls for delivery of 8,000 tons of wool by British to German textile mills in the U.S. zone. But it is said that Great Britain wants higher or lower than the 25% of manufactured goods to be exported to countries such as Sweden and Denmark.
