Abstract

The article discusses a Committee for Economic Development (CED) 1945 research that analyzed its approach to the postwar farm problem and what to do about agriculture. The study revealed that farmers are known to produce more during periods of dropping prices, and that the industry is nearing one such period when farmers confront decreasing product demands. Researchers claim the industry can do more than the farmer can about its problems, including instability of agricultural income, by learning how to modify the industrial production extremes.
