The chief aims the teacher sets himself at manual training lessons and at lessons devoted to socially useful work may be formulated as follows:Starting with the 1st grade the teacher commences the psychological preparation of the children for work. He instills in them an interest in and a love for work; he encourages a desire to take part (in the future) in the great work being carried out by the socialist society to build communism; he develops and encourages industry; he consolidates the habit of working and the need to perform some kind of work every day.
