Abstract

The first practical steps toward the realization of labor education in the general schools of Bulgaria were taken soon after the First World War. Then this work was introduced into the schools for all students - manual training for the boys, handwork and domestic science for the girls. After 1921, "Subotniks" (Sundays) were organized for pupils to do mass work harvesting on school property, planting trees in drought-ridden lands and on treeless hills, cultivating school gardens, flower beds, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
