Abstract
- The author discusses the composition and the interconnecting socio-political background of the film "Kantata Takwa" (Cantata of Devotion). He states that the said film highlights the influence and power of political Islam and the masses and deals with the regime of Indonesian President and dictator Muhammad Soeharto. He adds that the said film addresses the concerns of contemporary Indonesians by imbibing its spirit of personal devotion, creativity, and risk-taking.
